Women's Education & Health

Women's education is one of the projects where we are focusing on women's skills. We are living and working in an area where 99% of the women are illiterate. Having no source of income has been a source of suffering for these women, as it makes them totally dependent on the men in their society. The women do work in the homes and on the land, but they cannot earn (in the traditional sense) for their own survival - for this they must depend on their male counterparts. Unfortunately however, this has been a way for the men to dominate them.

We want to provide them with skills so that they can use their weakness as their weapon. We aim to teach them a more systematic and organic way of farming - choosing plants according to the land and the local climate. As well as this, we are teaching them to both read and write.
